The overall Central European e-commerce sales amounted to €93.2bn last year. This represented a growth of 22.8% compared to 2012. Central Europe’s total turnover is forecast to grow to €109.7bn in 2014.
In terms of e-commerce, Germany was the leading country in Central Europe, with a €63.4bn turnover and a €26.8% growth rate. Germany’s growth rate is expected to decrease next year, but at 20.6% it will still be the highest rate in Central Europe.
All Central European countries experienced a growth percentage of more than 20%, except for Austria and Switzerland. The growth of these two e-commerce markets is leveling off, which means they are becoming more mature.
