Ecommerce Europe attended the EU Internet Week together with industry stakeholders and EU decision makers on 14 November in Brussels. This year the annual EU Internet Week explored current and future industry developments and the outlook for Internet-related policies in the European Union such as the Data Protection regulation, European payment and logistics issues and completing the Digital Single Market in general.

Every year the conference examines innovations, challenges, and economic dimensions in areas such as e-commerce and online retail. Representing the European Parliament at the event were Jan Philipp Albrecht (rapporteur on Data Protection), Sampo Terho (rapporteur on payment issues), Róża Thun (rapporteur on dispute settlement tools) and Pablo Arias Echeverria (rapporteur on Completing the Digital Single Market). The European Commission was represented by the Deputy Director General of DG Markt, Pierre Delsaux, and the Head of Online and Postal Services within DG Markt, Werner Stengg. The industry was represented variously by MIH Allegro, eBay , DHL Express and Google on different panels.
