Ecommerce Europe releases annual “The UK B2C E-commerce Report 2016”

The UK remains Europe’s largest B2C e-commerce market. The growth rate of the online sales is slowly but surely stabilizing as it decreases from 12.6% in 2014 to 11.0% in 2015. As a result, the B2C e-commerce turnover grew to € 157.1 bn in the UK last year. The average spending per British e-shopper amounted to € 3,625 in 2015, making them Europe’s biggest online spenders.

Mobile commerce is continuing to grow significantly. Whereas 51% of British consumers of 15 years and older used a smartphone in 2012, this percentage increased to 71% in 2015. The total sales achieved through mobile devices amounted to € 31.1 bn in 2015, an increase of nearly € 5.0 bn compared to the preceding year.

All this information can be found in the United Kingdom B2C E-commerce Report 2016, which was published by the Ecommerce Foundation earlier today. You can download the free light report here.
