IATA, the International Air Transport Association, is the trade association for the world’s airlines, representing some 290 airlines or 82% of total air traffic. IATA supports many areas of aviation activity and help formulate industry policy on critical aviation issues. IATA reached out to Ecommerce Europe in the context of the Coronavirus outbreak because it launched a survey aiming to help IATA develop a stronger understanding of both the challenges currently facing the e-Commerce industry with COVID-19, as well as those you may encounter in your interactions with the air cargo industry in general. This is part of an initiative IATA is currently undertaking to enhance its understanding, and that of its member airlines, of the needs of e-Commerce customers. This effort relates to terms of service, improving collaboration between the e-Commerce and air cargo industries, driving a higher level of engagement between the two industries and ultimately better meeting the needs of end-consumers.
