For the first time in Bulgaria, the Bulgarian E-commerce Association (BEA), together with its partner, the Faculty of Economics of the Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” and with the support of the Bulgarian Industrial Association, launched “E-commerce Success”, an educational program lasting two semesters. The practical qualified education will provide participants with knowledge and practical skills on marketing and sustainable development of e-businesses.
Marlene ten Ham, Secretary General of Ecommerce Europe stated that: “Bulgaria is an important emerging market in the e-commerce sector, with a rapid growth rate of 30% in 2018. With a population share shopping online expected to increase to almost 60% by 2021, the Bulgarian e-commerce market is one of fastest-growing market in Europe. The industry needs qualified people to continue this growth and to be competitive for cross-border e-commerce to European consumers, which count for more than 500 million people. Ecommerce Europe fully supports the initiative of its member, the Bulgarian E-commerce Association and we wish BEA success!”
The “E-commerce Success” training targets students, entrepreneurs who are or are already in the process of implementing their own online store project on local and international markets, and employees from companies who are or will be responsible for the development of e-commerce business for their companies.
The lectures and exercises will be led by well-established lecturers from the Sofia University and proven practitioners with long experience in e-commerce from companies with successful projects in Bulgaria and abroad. This will give participants practical guidance on how to efficiently use the financial and technological resources for the project.
The two semester program has 120-hours workload of four modules focusing on the planning, creation, marketing and development of an online store, giving participants knowledge, skills, confidence and support to deliver a truly and well-functioning e-business. The training will consist of 4 hours a week during the weekend, at the Faculty of Economics of the Sofia University.
The program is based on an established methodology and is divided into four modules:
- Module 1: Basics of e-commerce
- Module 2: Launch a successful online store
- Module 3: Marketing Planning and Advertising Campaigns
- Module 4: Measuring marketing effectiveness
For the purpose of the training participants will be divided into small teams and each team will be given free access to the SAAS platform GombaShop.bg (member of BEA), where under the guidance of his mentor will realize operational online store with real products. The ordered products will be delivered in the form of droop shipments from top companies.
”E-commerce Success” combines a full range of technologies with active synchronous and asynchronous training, small team projects, team mentors and cloud community space for interactive group experience. The ultimate goal is to create a unique, demanding and work-based e-learning educational journey that will give participants the freedom to focus on their personal goals through each of the steps of creating, marketing and sustainable e-business development.
At the end of the training, each trainee will have to defend a practical course project for his e-shop before a commission.
Successful graduates will receive a Diploma for successfully completing the two semesters training “E-commerce Success”, issued by Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski “, and a Bulgarian E-Commerce Standard (expert level) certificate issued by the Bulgarian E-Commerce Association (BEA). The starting date of of the “E-commerce Success” Training is on 23 February 2019.
