On 17 November, from 16:00 to 17:30 CET, Ecommerce Europe’s Business Partner UPS will host a webinar on the Postal Services Directive. The webinar will be the first one from a series of webinars, dedicated to the various aspects of the postal and parcel sector, as the European Commission is currently evaluating the Directive and gathering stakeholders’ input through a public consultation, running until 9 November 2020. The Commission’s evaluation report is expected in the second quarter of 2021.
The webinar will focus on an exchange on the principles of EU Postal Regulation and its implications for the future. The panel will consist of:
- Dr. Bruno Basalisco, Head of Digital Economy and Postal & Delivery Services at Copenhagen Economics
- Mr. Jean-Yves Muylle, Head of Unit, Public Interest services, DG GROW
- Mr. Mark van der Horst, Director EU Affairs at UPS Europe
The panellists will discuss whether the Postal Services Directive is still fit for the future, a week after the closing of the public consultation on the topic.
