Vestiaire Collective, Asos and John Lewis win gold at the European E-Commerce Awards at the 5th Global E-Commerce Summit 2013.

The winners of the European E-Commerce Awards, hosted by Ecommerce Europe and the Global E-Commerce Summit, have been announced. Vestiaire Collective, Asos and John Lewis have been honoured with gold awards in the Entrepreneurial, Cross-Border and Multichannel categories. The Award Ceremony took place during the Global E-Commerce Summit on the eve of June 3rd at the beautiful setting of the renovated Bullring Las Arenas in Barcelona, in the presence of 400 international e-commerce professionals and entrepreneurs.

Winners Entrepreneurial Award

In order to stimulate the e-commerce market, European national associations, organisations and publishers are recognising the best webshop of their respective countries with national e-commerce awards. The national winners have been invited to the Global E-Commerce Summit to compete on a European level for the Entrepreneurial Award.

This year, the winner is Vestiaire Collective from France. According to the jury, Vestiaire Collective checked all the boxes when it comes to the criteria innovation, change, originality and true entrepreneurship. Furthermore, the jury was impressed by the dynamic return process which allows the client to immediately put the item in question back on sale. Winners of the Cross-Border and Multichannel Award

The Top 10 of both the Cross-Border and Multichannel Awards were nominated by our professional jury and ‘quick scanned’ by the GfK ShopExperience module.

The gold Cross-Border Award was awarded to Asos, silver went to Zalando while Amazon won bronze. Asos convinced the jury being innovative and driving a new type of shopping experience with an excellent approach to strong localisation.

John Lewis was awarded with the golden Multichannel Award, followed by Marks & Spencer winning silver, and Burberrywho won bronze.

Global E-Commerce Summit

The award ceremony of the European E-commerce Awards took place during The Global E-Commerce Summit, June 2-4, Hotel Arts, Barcelona, Spain. The Global E-Commerce Summit is the annual global event where established (online) retailers, entrepreneurs, e-commerce experts from emerging markets and award winning e-commerce players of the world gather! The summit in 2013 has been the 5th edition.
